Bees Knees

×

Bees Knees - The “Bees Knees” is prohibition-era slang for “the best” and this cocktail does bring out the best of honey and gin. The exact origin of this recipe is lost to history but as Jeffrey Morganthaler said, it appears in Trader Vic’s Bartenders Guide circa 1947 and called for the use of honey.
How To Make The Bees Knees
Shake all ingredients vigorously in a cocktail shaker for 10 seconds and strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass and garnish with a twist of lemon.
To fashion yourself some honey syrup, we suggest adding 1-part water to 1-part honey (clover honey if you have it) and stir them to dilute. If your honey is very thick or hard, heat your water first to help soften the honey in the mix. Or, just buy a bottle of pre-made honey mix.
