Said to be designed by Don Javier Delgado Corona, owner of the beloved La Capilla bar in Jalisco. Credited with the Batanga cocktail as well. Often made with Jarritos or Q Grapefruit; if not, use Fresca or Squirt.
Notes:
Light and carbonated grapefruit with a hint of agave
This margarita variation gives a bit more sweet flavor, a nice shade of pink yet retains the sour agave components.
Notes:
Sweet-forward flavor, sour lime lingering with bright agave notes.
Invented in 1972 by Trader Vic, documented in Trader Vic’s Bartenders Guide using Trader Vic Mai Tai Mix; switch up tequila for blended scotch and this “Mai Tai” variant becomes a Honi Honi cocktail instead.
Notes:
Mai Tai flavor profile, citrus, almond with a sweet agave flavor.
The original tequila sunrise used creme de cassis for its sunrise effect along with soda water... the redesigned modern classic comes out of the 70's and was popularized by Mick Jagger of the Rolling stones and later The Eagles.
Notes:
Citrus and agave with a light sweetness, works great with all style of tequila especially Reposado tequila.
A cocktail with Campari that doesn't become aggressive like other campari drinks, not a ton of history on this baby but we'd put it into the Modern Classics, it needs more attention.
Notes:
A salty campari mild bitterness, tequila from start to finish with a tart dry finish.
